Position Title: Senior Noise Analyst

Position Overview:

Stantec is seeking a Senior Noise Analyst to lead our Mid-Atlantic Traffic Noise team. This role involves technical oversight, project management, and client engagement in traffic noise analysis, abatement design, and compliance with state and federal guidelines, particularly for highway projects. Expertise in traffic noise modeling and proficiency in software tools such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, Geopak, GIS, and Traffic Noise Model (TNM) are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project and Contract Management: Oversee task orders, manage project deliverables, and support client relationships for continued growth.
  • Technical Oversight: Lead and evaluate noise analysis and abatement designs, ensuring compliance with 23 CFR 772.
  • DOT-Compliant Modeling: Develop accurate noise models using TNM for complex highway acoustic analysis and abatement planning.
  • Staff Development: Mentor staff, from new hires to senior analysts, and promote professional growth through engagement with TRB and related organizations.
  • Client and Public Engagement: Attend project meetings, lead client interactions, and present at public hearings as needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain working knowledge of NEPA principles and applicable noise policies in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, or environmental disciplines preferred. TNM 2.5 Training Certificate from a recognized institution (e.g., NHI).
  • Experience: Proven experience in managing, prioritizing, and supervising project work and team deliverables in transportation planning and highway projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads, Geopak, GIS, and TNM (latest versions).
  • Noise Measurement Skills: Skilled in Type I and Type II noise meters; familiarity with highway design and traffic planning.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong ability to analyze technical data, make well-supported recommendations, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
    • Ability to travel up to 25% and willingness to work outdoors occasionally.
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $108,900 - $163,400 (CO, HI, and MD locations) – Final compensation is based on qualifications, experience, and location.
